Hey guys, small question. A friend just stated "hey, i heard aemon can't save himself anymore. Do you know why?"
I responded "what? Why? Where did you hear this?"

He said he watched a video of a game online with two commentators and there they said this.

Now what? I really don't see why this shouldn't work!

There's no reason why he couldn't save himself.

He absolutely can save himself. He's a Night's Watch character, so if he would be killed, the play restrictions for his interrupt ability are met.

Not to be a jerk, but commentating for an online video does not make a person infallible. They're human and get things wrong, too. If a comment doesn't seem justified by the rules (on a video or on the boards), check into it. I'm glad you did.

I'm kind of curious who these commentators are.

Because they don't seem to understand the game all that well, and I would probably discount most of what they say in the future.

Thx guys! :)

I was baffeled myself.

Here is the video:

time stamp: 22:48.

Now i just saw this mistake was spotted and clarified in the comments. Should've asked him earlier for the source :P

Oh okay. Also, this commentary was way back in September when no one really knew all the rules yet haha.

That makes it forgivable.

yes, this is sooo strong, I just played with him, you only need him and you can ignore every 1-claim military challenge... isn't that a bit too much? :)

He should be allowed to get chain attachments.. really

I have the same feeling my brother.

Of course he is strong, but there are ways to stop him, already in the core set, like Treachery or Dornish Paramour; or newer ones like Nightmares.

He nicely fits in the defensive NW style (in 1st, he was neutral!), but I do not think he is broken.

He can't have attachments because he can't see them to put them on. ;)

Hey guys, probably it is obvious, but just to be sure: He can save smne from Valar even if he dies the same time? (of course it's an interrupt, so he can kneel and activate his ability before dying himself?)

Yes

Can Aemon save an opponent's NW character?

Say, a Benjen perhaps who would be killed for 2 power?

Yes he can.
