Strength and tricon I like very much! But I have to say if I compare my feelings when I draw him, or when I draw Robert, Tywin or even the Queen Thorns, he just doesnt compare for me ;( Heck, I even like drawing Melisandre or The Knight of Flowers better.
This Viper sadly is just a big body, with lackluster renown...
Even if you are on 6 used plots, AND have dawn on him with his elder brother on the board (yeah, when will this even happen), he'll take home maybe 3 power...
Though if it was any easier, it could fast become too swingy, and too good.
With Nymeria it's easy to target your opponent weakness and gain 1-2 power with him every turn, assuming he's not kneeling or milked. His high STR value makes him immune to Dracarys, and that's something I like a lot as I play against Targ fealty a lot. With only a Doran or Dawn you'll get a lot of power from this guy. Good thing The Mountain is not released yet!
Mountain reads *Kneel: Remove all icons from the mountain for the rest of the game to kill target cost 6 or higher character."
This may be a stupid question, but when it says "by which you won the challenge" does this mean the total strength or the difference between the attacking strength and the defending strength? For example if you attack with The Red Viper and the defender counts 10 strength and the attacker 15, does The Red Viper gain 3 power or 1 power? Thanks
Note he doesn't have to be attacking alone for his reaction to trigger. The reaction isn't particularly flashy - until you factor in going 2nd, strength buffs (Dawn/Doran), Seal of the Hand, Power Behind the Throne, Nymeria, and the imminent new agenda Lord of the Crossing. With such support, TRV is very potent.
I did 34 str intrigue challenge with Red viper in it, He got 6 power from that and another 5 from Doran's Game. It was pretty hilarious
Night Watch didn't stand a chance!
Does Night's Watch ever stand a chance?
