Not the flashiest of the 7-costers, but surely the most trustworthy of the bunch.
if i have 3 gold by the time i reach dominance phase , does that mean that Tywin contributes 9 STR instead of 6 STR in calculations of the dominance phase ?

Yes. For Dominance, you count up the STR of your standing characters, not the "printed STR." So modifiers would be included. Keep in mind that the 3 gold in your gold pool will also have their own contribution to Dominance (so, if all you had standing was Tywin with 3 gold in your gold pool, you'd count 12 for Dominance).
