Can someone tell me why he is not affected by "Barring the Gates"?

... hm I guess I get it, the card ability puts the cards "in the players hand", which is still out of play, then they can be marshalled normally... but it's still weird.

The card gives you as a player permission to marshal cards from dead pile, it does not directly cause them to enter play
