not too bad for late game draw.

not too bad for late game draw.

And that's the Problem: in early game, this card blocks your hand and prevents you from having drawn another, more important card. The "Arianne Tax" certainly is needed, but I think 6 is just too much. 3 cards are always good, either early (what doesn't work with this one) or late game, but with this, your economy is already spent after the card draw.

I rather go with counting coppers.

Cavalry's cost of 6 has nothing to do with Arianne. If they specifically wanted to make it not work with her, they could've worded the Cavalry the same way they worded Littlefinger: "After you marshal it" instead of "After it enters play".

Didn't think of it that way. However, if it would cost 5 and had this wording, you still had the option to Arianne the cavalry, passing the card draw. This would make the card still much stronger and I'd definitely include it in my deck then.

the 3 card draw being only late game isn't an issue. If you think by turn 4 your hand is starting to empty out anyway so they usually wont fall to reserve, and by turn 4 you would hope you have seen your x3 copy cards and have previously played them... I've never been in a situation where I regret having a handful of dupes. Worst case you draw into cards you cannot afford that turn. but with counting coppers you will still often draw into cards you cannot afford. This was you get a reasonable body on the board as well.

I usually play SH turn 4 in my martel summer deck, that way I will often be able to afford this guy and another 5/6 coster
