Best art so far. The card is pretty underwhelming though.

Im with you there... 2 gold no icons and only reduces by 1??? what are the benefits? Even if this reduced by 2 it might see a little bit of play in janky combo decks but as it is this is folder bait

Can you kneel an opponents companion as well as any number of companions? It looks like it is possible based on the verbiage... if that is correct it makes him a little better.

Never mind.... An opponent's game elements may not be used to pay a cost.
Please return to trashing him.

You can kneel any number of your own companions though, as there's no limit.

The fact that he has no icons just kills this card. He is technically non limited economy that is available to every deck, however at cost 2 for conditional economy (i.e. only uniques) he is just never going to see play and kneeling all your companions would just leave you with no board. If he had a power symbol I actually think he would be perfectly playable (as a x1) in a deck with plenty of uniques, acting like a 4th in faction reducer. The thing is that you would always choose to keep a 1STR reducer over this guy, which tells you how bad he is (i.e. worse than the lowest value characters in every faction).

ths character would see play if there ever comes a non unique 1 cost companion out....i doubt it

1 cost cards are very important in 2.0 due to setup (7-1). There may never even be another 1-cost nonunique, much less a neutral one or a companion. Even that upcoming Wildling Refugee needed to be printed cost 2, with a condition to get it back to 1, and that's your "neutral faction" chump (also not a companion, but highlights how stingy the 1s are).

Given you almost always marshall a unique each ruond, he is effectively a 1 cost character that can be used as claim soak in the turn. I'd happily pay 1 for a Bodyguard that is immune to attachment hate and can't be cancelled.

And that's the worst case scenerio. If he lives another round its 0 cost for the same. If you had another companion you didn't mind kneeling (maybe you are 1 gold short of getting Tywin out) you are getting more.

People are definitely under-rating him.

He's not bad at all with Greyjoy, more economy and might make Syrio a little more viable again.

When was Syrio ever not viable?
