With this card, can you marshal an opponent's discarded dupes if that character is still on the table?

• You cannot marshal a unique card from your oppoent's discard pile if another copy of that card is in play under his or your control, or in his or your dead pile. See FAQ (1.3).

Inversely, if you were to marshall a copy of an opponents character from his discard pile before that character was in play, he would then not be able to marshall another copy of that character right? Same thing as when Euron pinches a unique location from opponent and they can't marshall another copy.

Played at the right time, following some nice intrigue wins etc, this card seems like you could get some nice control on the opponent.

Up  till FAQ this would have been working great. FAQ destroyed Yoren and this card. If NW will not get  some additional discard support (Seen-in-Flames-like event would be best) this event is going to be crap.

It still works great if you play Winter, Varys and Marched to the wall.

Yeh, that would definitely give you some options I think due to the faq, it's one of those cards that encourages you to pay close attention to what is going into the discard pile.

Been trying to like this card, cos in theory it could be great. But, unless you use something like Varys , I'm really struggling to make it work. There's just never enough characters in discard, that aren't already in play (like a dup in discard). And due to that rule, it severely limits its usefullness. Anyone got any advice on this?

Kings of Winter opening with Wraiths is also likely to get some characters in the discard pile. Plus Marched.

In order to bring a card into play as a duplicate, both the duplicate and the unique card that would be duplicated must be owned and contolled by the player attempting the duplication.
