Does this work on the Iron Throne?

It works, but it would be too late to prevent +8 from Iron Throne, since there is no Action window before wining dominance.

Note for the same reason its not a good choice to use it on Stannis either.

Right, and for any cards which increase reserve value i suppose. Thanks for the input and reminder.

So, Nightmares. Apparently everyone is running it these days.

It is obviously a very flexible card. Unlike other counters (Hand's Judgment) it will never be a dead card in your hand. But of course it only buys you a reprieve for single round.

What exactly makes this card so fantastic? Is it primarily because of the prevalence of heavy hitters (Mirri, Winterfell, maybe Tyene), and the ability to shut them down for a turn is enough to deal with them? Or is the flexibility (and the surprise of being an event, unlike Milk) just worth that much?

I'm definitely aware that this is a strong card, though at the moment I am not running it in Stark Fealty, but I'm curious if anyone has strong opinions. Thanks!

I often run two of these as Milk #4 and Milk #5, with the benefit that they can hit locations (usually Winterfell, sometimes Ghaston), can be used as a surprise, can be paid for during the challenge phase (e.g. with Tyrion's gold) and can hit "no attachments" characters (e.g. Rattleshirt's Raiders).

It's an amazing card in terms of flexibility like you said it can hit locations and characters. The surprise factor is what is more important though as they will commit to challenges only to get hit with nightmares. And hitting big dudes (mirri, mountain, king bob, tyene, nymeria, who will remain iconless if you nightmares before her action) with it is usually the best course of action or to make way for one of your plays.
Great example that will save games Let's say a viper goes in with everyone and will gain crazy power. Defending will cost you because you need to kneel high str characters. So he kneels his whole board for a viper challenge hoping to win. You nightmares viper and get so much more when you attack.

It also works really well on hitting characters with the no attachments keyword. In marshalling I believe you can nightmares a character and then milk them and the milk will stay. That's only good on massive dudes though like King robbs host or maybe some nights watch guys like aemon etc. But it is a versatile card and you can't go wrong with it. I personally love milking bara characters and when they play their cressen I nightmares him.

Question : if I nightmare the wall, what happens : nightmare effect fades before or after wall power gain activation ?

I have the same question because we actually played a game where my opponent nightmared my Wall in two different rounds. the difference would have been huge. by the third nightmare I started to question if it really could prevent the wall's effect to get power. please help.
