The Kill effect is 100% unnecessary.. /sigh
This existing might make some level of buff effects more necessary.
A friend of mine brought up a technical point I would like clarified. Does this plot effect work like Fortified Position? As in does the -1 continuously effect all character cards in play until the plot leaves? Will it affect characters that are marshaled the turn the plot is played?
Still weird that this effects Dany...
I get that she's not actually fire-proof but the event they're depicting on the card is her walking into the flames.
Yeah, she is affected the same as everyone else, as if she has no immunity to fire whatsoever.
Have there been any "dragon" traited Dannys in the past? That might be a cool thing to see.
Yes, that's right. So don't play 1 str characters (unless they are immediately affected by a global str boost like The Wall or the forthcoming Winterfell) on the Blood of the Dragon turn.
No, that has never existed.
I think it was called Blood of the Dragon too.
Yep - it was a 1.0 Core Set card. With a ridiculous +6 str boost!
Than nobody played due to its even more ridiculous 3-gold cost.
True - although in a weird janky deck built to leverage cards like Meereenese Fighting Pit or the Dany that granted non-kneeling to Dragons it was good fun.
No, but if your deck was built around the Dragon trait then challenges could be made with non-kneeling Dragons and Meereenese Fighting Pit could be used to stand the Blood of the Dragon character for multiple challenges. I didn't mean the cards interacted, just that a deck could be built to leverage them. A very combo-centric, janky deck, but still...
This would go before confiscate because it's a constant effect right? Or could you remove a Crown of Gold before the -1 applies and kill a 5 STR character?
Yes, the crown character will be killed before the Confiscation can remove the Crown. Confiscation will need to remove something else instead.
I encountered a situation that sparked a ltitle debate in a round last night. Does the "and is killed if its STR is 0" continue to apply throughout all phases?
For example, an opponent that attacks me would have -1 STR from the plot, and -1 from Dany standing -- therefore have -2 STR, and if they only have 2 STR would they then die??
I used "Dragon Sight" to add another -1 STR to non-dragon characters for a compound effect, and the three of us playing agreed that it made sense for any characters hitting 0 STR would die as long as the plot is active, since essentially the Targaryans just lit the battlefield on fire. But i'm curious what others think.
It lasts through all phases. It is a constant ability.
