Really torn on this. If you can pull off 3 challenges per turn then you're golden--net +1 STR and an extra power each round. Plus it can help you setup for effects like Put to the Sword/Torch. But it feels fiddly and I think there will be a lot of times where you'll lose challenges because of that 1 STR and still may not be able to get all three out.

I think I need to wait and see how better players fare with this one.

I heard it had success last weekend at some Store Championships.  I think it even won some of them.

Interesting.

Wonder what House they were running? I imagine Martell and Greyjoy could work well with icon removal/addition and stealth...

I found Martell Lords of Crossing won at least one SC last weekend.  I don't know if there were others, but I did see a Night's Watch Lords of Crossing went 5-0 in swiss in another.

It's being used in a Tyrell knights rush deck that is quite good.

haha without question, my Greyjoy Fealty is absolute GARBAGE against this powerhouse. Randall is bonkers good with this Agenda.

On the first challenge, is it possible to start the challenge with a 1 STR character, then have him dropped to 0 for the challenge without getting removed from it? I'm not sure how to play it in that situation.
You can initiate the challenge but he will have 0 Str, unless you have a way to boost him mid challenge (or have higher str characters participating with him) then you will not be able to win the challenge, however it still satisfies initiating a challenge and the opponent can declare defenders / get renown etc.

Excellent, thank you!
Excellent, thank you!
Sorry, one more question. If my opponent lets it go unopposed, could I still win with 0 STR, take the claim, and the unopposed bonus? I'm running a chuddy knight deck and I'm certain this scenario will come up again.

Unfortunately not.  The RRG page 23 states:

"A player must count at least 1 total STR and there must be at least 1 participating character on his or her side in order to win a challenge."

and

"If neither player can meet the requirements of

winning a challenge, neither player wins (or loses)
that challenge."

If you're playing a chuddy Knight deck, I assume Tyrell?  In which case, don't forget the Arbor Knight's ability to boost Redwyne characters (including itself.)  Wait for your opponent to let it go unopposed, then spend a gold to raise the Str and win, claiming unopposed and claim!  Always fun!

No. You cannot win a challenge if you count 0 STR, on attack or defense. And you have to WIN the challenge in order to collect the power for unopposed. Essentially, if you "chump attack" in your first challenge with a 1 STR guy, having his STR reduced to 0, your opponent can effectively ignore him because the challenge will have no consequences (they'll be running the risk that you'll buff the STR, of course).

I run this in a Lannister deck with Casterly Rock, and I find that chudding the first challenge, especially when I have 4 challenges, is pretty much always possible and beneficial. Out of Lannister, you have TONS of little guys with an INT icon and 2 STR, giving them 1 STR after LotC. My opponents seem to find this very annoying, as they either defend against 1 STR and waste a dude, or I get INT claim and 1 power. It can really accelerate the power gain of LotC.

You can also throw a Military with Jamie and The Hound for a measly 9 Str. =)

I didn't even think of running Lannister with Crossing... Nice.

Randyll Tarly stands from this. Not that it's of any use other that dominance, or something :D

@TrueLolzor He could defend if you were first player at least.

Oh, yeah, right :D

I just usually go second when I play the crossing to ensure global saturation.

When there is a fourth challenge? LotC will not modify character's strength right.

That is correct, the fourth and any subsequent challenges are unmodified.
