My opinion on a support two core Skids. It's meant to compliment another investigator who needs help fighting.

Skids is probably an even more capable fighter than Roland. Almost to a fault. Where Roland can investigate and fight Skids can Evade and Fight (at least in the core). Roland has an easier time going solo. Skids has only average investigation abilities. Also if I though Roland had a Willpower problem then Skids is crippled by his low Willpower. At least he has a reasonable 6 Sanity. Still for starters we need to address how Skids will deal with Treacheries.
So lets start with plugging the holes in Skids' stat line. I've attempted to bolster Skids' Willpower by including Guts and a reasonable amount of Willpower icon cards with good utility. As a long game solution I've included 2x Physical Training. I think this is definitely the way to go for Skids. He can use the boost for both Combat and Willpower. Also with Burglary he can camp on a low Shroud area and build up a decent resource pool.
Evidence! is included to help Skids investigate in an emergency. He has some Intelligence icons, but Skids' options in this area is limited. For this reason I think Skids' best companion investigator is probably Daisy. This is reinforced by the fact that the two investigators have no overlap in a two core environment.
Daisy can help Skids' deal with all the non-combat situations in the scenario, which will allow Skids' to concentrate on what he seems to do best. Placing damage on enemies. Skid's can stack an impressive amount of damage with things like Backstab, Sneak Attack, Dynamite Blast, Vicious Blow, .45 Automatic. Also he has access to the best weapon in my opinion in the Machete.
If you were going to attempt to play Skids solo I'd probably make room for a Flashlight. He'll need the extra investigation support. Probably move Dynamite Blast and Leo down to 1x each considering their cost.
Mulligan priority is a weapon. Skids needs to be able to deal with combat early. Machete is the preferred draw, but .45 or Backstab is also nice to see early.
Experience priorities is definitely Sure Gamble. That is probably Skids' best card. Nest best acquisition is probably Hot Streak. It can get you out of the Hospital Debts slump which can paralyze your deck's experience growth. Also Skids just needs a lot of resources and sometimes Burglary just won't be enough to keep your curve up.
+1, almost identical to what I came up with so no value in my re-posting it, only I include Emergency Cache over First Aid (I'm comfortable investigating on the edge and generally prefer to press my luck rather than spend a turn healing, and Skids needs the cash besides). I didn't much like playing Skids in Core -- he doesn't really start to shine until he's got a scenario or two's worth of experience behind him and I've got something irrationally against core decks with more support class cards than their primary class.
Thanks. I should go back and revisit this deck now that we are beyond the core. I just haven't circled back to Skids yet because I played him a lot during the core only period. I feel he's still a real strong choice in the current investigator pool.
