For the most part I've found the majority of core set cards to be useful. Switchblade I've almost always removed from my deck immediately. Skids can get Machete as well as .45 Automatic and .41 Derringer. He's not starved for weapons and this one just seems to have so little utility unless you have a very high combat stat.
By the same token this is almost worthless for Wendy with her combat total of 1. If she's going to take a weapon it's going to be the Derringer, Knife or the Baseball Bat to get her up to a reasonable 3 combat.
I'm not sure any of the Dunwich Investigators are going to prefer this weapon over their other options so I doubt my opinion on this card will change anytime soon.
Has anyone used this card to good effect?
It has some marginal utility with Hard Knocks or Physical Training (or Encyclopedia, if you're playing with upgraded Seeker cards), but I think that's about it. It is fast, which can be relevant every now and then.
I feel like Jenny might have more use for this than Skids, since she will be swimming in resources (and therefore can better afford to leverage cards like Hard Knocks). In general, though, I'd usually rather have pretty much any other weapon.
