Does the Forced effect trigger if Adam's controlling investigator resigns?
Probably.
When you resign, the cards you control all leave play and I am pretty sure it would trigger then. It's possible that if you were the last player, that you might be saved by the 'game being over', but I am confident that if there were any other players left it would trigger.
