This is a deck built for the GTG tournament Saturday 4th October, where players were restricted to core and deluxe boxes only - No Asylum Packs.
The premise of the deck is to simply keep their side of the board as light as possible. Bounce them with Faceless Abductor, Fishers from Outside, Tenebrous Nightgaunt and Lord Jeffrey Farrington. Remove them with A Single Glimpse, Calling Down the Ancients and Rite of the Silver Gate. Get my own cards and characters back with B. Ramsdale Brown, Rite of the Silver Key, Unspeakable Resurrection and Carl Stanford.
With a reduced board presence, Zanni and Elder Chasm means they are unlikely to be able to oppose my challenges, allowing stories to generally be won in two turns due to 16 Investigation icons.
Overall I felt the deck did me well, getting 2nd place with 4 wins to only 1 loss, against 1st place (Mulletcheese).
There are changes I would make with an unrestricted card pool, although I only own 5 AP's, but one would be switching A Single Glimpse for Pushed Into the Beyond.
Hope it is an interesting deck for others, and would love to hear feedback, questions, criticisms, generally anything :)
Congrats on you win for 2nd Place. I like your idea of combining Zanni and Elder Chasm as speed bump to players. I haven't gotten Terror in Venice yet but will probably be purchasing it soon to get Zanni in my SIlver Twilight deck.
However, I am curious on how did the Hungry Star Vampire serve you in the tournament? And how did you play Dedicated Butler in this game?
Zanni is such a strong character for 1, and I feel they are a prime pick for ST decks.
Hungry Star Vampire didn't turn up much, but I mainly saved him for when they had skill 1 characters. One turn I sent it into a challenge with a Butler, knowing it would be unopposed and the butler's arcane will allow the Vampire to stand. As a backup, I knew I could feed it Yithian Scouts, to get them out the deck faster.
The Butler helped me get Yithian Scouts into discard, letting me save my domains for other cards. It also worked well with Rite of the Silver Key, in a similar way to Scout. I also used him to put spells back into the deck when I was about to use Plague Stone.
Initiate was from an AP sadly, so couldn't be taken. There wasn't one that was available that felt useful. Rats only work when played from hand, as otherwise they would be used.
Self milling from Key is part of the appeal. But even only waiting a turn means a Zanni comes back, which can alter a story phase. But several times I had a standoff, which gives it time to charge.
It is a card I'd be tempted by, although I would need to get the pack. If he cost 3, I'd be less tempted. Bringing him back in their turn (ideally Story phase) with Rite of the Silvery Key or Resurrection, as he is Enters play.
I'm thinking of improving upon it for next month's tournament though

How was Rite of the Silver Key? It feels like its a bit of a slow card to me - unless you are just using it to get Butlers back or something?
No restricted card unless I'm missing something - is Initiate of Huan Hung a no goer?
