2C1C: Red and Blue Saturday

Clever use of Meereenese Brothel, with Ancient Mariner, Boatswain, and Syrio. Samwell, and just 2 carrion birds seems odd to me. How well did the deck perform for you?

I went a solid 4-2. My losses were to Lanni no agenda (kept my characters knelt for ~4 turns in a row, couldn't do anything about it), and Targ Rusted Maesters. The latter was because someone had previously mentioned they didn't think Ancient Mariner worked with Meereenese Brothel, though that wasn't the only factor in my loss there.

Edit: Forgot the other question. Samwell + Birds was more just because I was expecting some/a non-trivial amount of seasonal decks. Given that, I felt a single Samwell in a deck that craves draw isn't really a setback if I get him in a match-up where he's irrelevant...he just stays in hand to be discarded to int claim.

Was there a ruling on Ancient Mariner? I do not see why he would not work with the Brothel. 

It was just something someone mentioned to me in passing before the game, no official ruling or anything. It does work, and the person I talked to just accidentally had it wrong.

I dont understand how the Brothel will interactive with Boatswain. Once his STR is reduced then it dosent constently reduce ? Or am i wrong on this ?
