Void ring is quite popular though and is a generally desirable ring effect. So I guess the main thing would be making a void attack when opponent has no fate on his characters, which in turn makes them think to defend lighter, and then you switch it around to some other trick.
Or maybe, when Void ring has fate on it you want to take, or you want to take void ring out of the mix preemptively, but desire some other effect more.
I dunno though, seems a lot of hassle for a very specific circumstance. Being a cantrip makes it easier to run, for sure, but there's still the risk that it'll put you at virtual card disadvantage while you wait for a suitable window to play it.
Can be combo'd with Isawa Kaede or Shiba Tsukune if you don't want to take the actual void ring.
so with that spell u can choose every orher ring if it is claimed???
it doesnt make it clear in the wording of the card.
