Monk stuff, I love it, encourage the janky weirdness!

But Strength 2? That is pretty hard to swallow, even with a 'free' defender... We will have to see if we get any more big monks to stand up and defend it. Or at least more options for small monks do do a decent defense. High Kicks?

But if you use high kick, you're spending 1 card, 1 action and also wasting the 2nd part of the province ability. Also if the opponent has imperial favor, they'll still win this conflict.

OTOH, there's no special synergy in any other air province for a Dragon Monk deck, so it may see play anyway.

This province is fantastic (assuming you play plenty of monks...  I'd say at least 15 or so?).  It's not just about getting an extra unbowable defender (which usually makes up for more than 3 province strength), it also gives you an extra attacker if it's hit on the 2nd or 3rd conflict of the turn.

Another card for Kitsuki Yaruma to flip.. This would enourage a more aggressive build for monks as would not mind attacking its best monk if it has the chance to attack again with this.. This could spike power level if it said instead monk character or "with monk attachment"

You don't need to flip it though, the ability works on attack declaration, not reveal.

No need to flip it - it happens each time it is attacked, not on reveal.

Anyway, trying this out and facing it, I have to say it's actually extremely decisive - what I missed was that the readying is the small part of the effect here, with the bowing immunity and staying ready after the conflict being the big part.

Basically if this province is out and the opponent has a monk, you simply don't attack it. That's pretty solid, especially for an Air province.

Way better in practice than I thought it would be, this card.

This is a disaster if you attack into it as the second player, since you'll just give back one of your opponent's best characters ready and everything for the next conflict.

In my experience, you have to overcommit to break this. Make sure that a single defender is not enough. The other way to deal with this is to have a way to send your opponent's character home so that a single defender does not cut it.

Remember that it only fires one per round, but that one time is still good enough.

Cautious scout's stock is going up.
