All these province cards of this theme are rubbish, but this one especially so. Are we meant to be building Talisman of the Sun decks around these or something?

I think Scorpion will actually love this. With all their dishonor tech, you can often engineer a huge swing or create a situation where your opponent starts to sabotage himself because he does not want to break this and lose their fated up 4+ coster. This can be as huge as Feast or Famine.

I do not think they are rubbish, they could be more useful than some of the flip over once province effects in the game. This one is good for us Scorpion players who can easily dishonor big guys who have run into this province,

I think the way matching elements makes them stronger is really weird. As someone who uses Before The Throne, I know these 5 strength provinces are not easy to get the opponent to break when I want. Feast or Famine is much trickier for them to navigate.

Yep, absolutely. The idea behind boosting Province Strength by having the right element is sound (at least for many people compared to role-locking them entirely), but giving them on-break effects while increasing their Strength with the "right" role is bizarre and counter-intuitive. If they had Action triggers things would be very different. Alternatively, the Strength bonus could have been an Action trigger only clans with the right element can trigger. That would have also been cool because then you can decide whether giving or denying the break is the better option in this instance.

Hadn't thought of it that way... Trying out will be telling, I guess. I suppose it's considerably less intricate than setting up Noble Sacrifice or I Can Swim, and folk do that plenty.

Could Scorpion/crane Murder decks be a thing then?

I'm sure Scorpion murder decks will become a thing when Aramoro drops. Unless we get more "save" effects for the rest clans.

God, I hope it doesn't go the way of AGOT2 and become all about chasing the saves.

Then it better become not all about killing characters

I agree!

What I like right now is that most kill effects all take work to set up, so even a deck built around them would struggle to play constant kills.

The current Voltron style, piling up attachments and investing tons of fate into an unsstoplable killing machine is exclusive because of low removal. This kind of tools are necessary to avoid Crab or Dragon railroad victories.

What to we say to the god of province? - Pathfinder blade.
