This card, which I initially considered underpowered, has massively grown on me.
He's got two superb traits, and it's only really necessary to use his ability a couple of times before he's given great value. Also dead nice to be able to use event abilities that can't be counterspelled or defeated by event-immunity (like Guest of Honor, Isawa Tadaka or Above Question). Given that the strength of events seems to be stronger to account for the strong elements of counter-event control, that's a surprisingly big advantage.
So Plaigirist is now a regular part of my scorpion decks, to my own surprise.
