Get one of these on turn one and you're not going to like it.

Currently there are only 3 ways of getting rid of condition attachments.  Elrond (ally from The Road Darkens), Miner of the Iron Hills (ally from core set) and Power of Orthanc (event from Voice of Isengard).   If you expect condition attachments, I suggest running a few of these as answers.

Thanks! So I can rely on miner only - in my country there are only Shadows of Mirkwood expansions out :-/

Well untill recently for 3 years there was only 1 way to get rid of it (miner), so think that is funny use of that phrasing :P

Eleanor says hi

So does A Test of Will... but yeah, this and other stuff like this is the reason why you use Eleanor in your deck.

Pay attention on wording. If you can ready your character in any other phase than Refresh, it is free. So (for example) Unexpected Courage is fine with this card ;)

If there are two of these on the same hero, do they stack?

Yes

Oh this card is so annoying. It is even worse then just getting killed from some vicious encounter card. This card make you watch your heroes die slow and painful death.

Cancel it with a Test of Will as soon at it is revealed, nullify its effects through Unexpected Courage as recommended above or simply get rid of it with an Iron Hills Miner.

When two or more players have the same highest threat level, can we just choose who will take this card or does it have to follow the playing order?

Yep.  Technically first player determines tie breakers like this.

What a terrible card! In addition, it's in the first adventure...
