Killing machine
He's starting to show his age a little, as cards like Erebor Battle Master can really put the hurt down in a dwarf deck. I'd actually like to see another version of Gimli, possibly from the Lore sphere. However, he can be great against high defense/hit point enemies if you get his attack up, and it's great that you can do so without any support cards, although of course things like Citadel Plate make him even more of a monster. Nothing against the artist, but this is perhaps my least favorite artwork for any hero card.

I still think Gimli a killing machine. Give him Citadel Plate and Boots from Erebor (KD) and start the game defending or even give him unexpected courage to make him defend AND attack. Put a Dwarven Axe and maybe a cache of the Dunedain on top of that and you have a rather ultimate killing machine.

To reverse my previous comment, he really is quite good, one of the go-to heroes for just straight up killing things.

I have also found him incredibly useful for questing in battle quests (count attack instead of willpower).
