Can I use O Elbereth Gilthoniel on Durin's Bane ?...or its "cannot leave the staging area" also means it cannot be sent into the encounter deck ?
No, OEG won't work on Durin's Bane. Caleb Grace of FFG clarified this on the FFG boards.

It would have been too easy...
You can use Hama and Feint to keep it from attacking, though.
5 stars (maximum threat), obviously. Love the image.

There is a typo in the listing, not the card, it says During's Bane not Durin's

The fact that this enemy is "engaged with each player", does this mean that all the players can stack an attack together even without Ranged? That's how we played it but i have a doubt.

Pretty sure you have to defend and attack individually, since attacks are declared in order of play. But sent in a rules request if in doubt.

The rule sheet (http://www.fantasyfl...e_rulesheet.pdf) specifies that players cannot stack their attacks unless the their characters have ranged.

Players can attack Durin's Bane following the normal
combat rules. Players cannot pool their attacks together
against Durin's Bane without the use of the ranged
keyword or a similar card effect.

Can you attack Durin's Bane if your threat is 0 or lower?

The part Benfrohlich quoted from the rule book says "following normal combat rules". Does or doesn't this include the necessity of the monster being engaged with a player.

Best enemy artwork i think and soooo powerful too, i kind of like him now :3

Slight spelling error "During's"

If you reduce your threat back to zero, does the text "considered to be engaged with each player whose threat is one or greater" mean that it is no longer engaged with you? Or does it specifically need to say that it disengages from a player?

Because it seems to me that if it's the former, then Galadriel (or any other kind of consistent threat reduction) beats the encounter by itself, which is hilarious, but probably not good for the game.

I could be wrong, but I read it as if your threat is lower than zero he is no longer engaged with you.  Since he is attacking from the staging area, it is only his text that allows him to be engaged with everyone, so I think it continually reapplies.

He is in the staging area even when he is engaged with players. He is considered to be engaged to each player with threat 1 or greater. So, if your threat is 1 or greater you fight with him, if your threat reduce to 0, you dont fight with him.

But you could fight him with ranged, since he is considered engaged with another player.  That follows the standard combat rules.

You could also attack him with Dunhere regardless of threat level. I'm seriously tempted to build that deck once I get to Celebrimbor's Secret: Use Galadriel to keep my threat at 0, and just stack attachments on Dunhere, while using allies and my red hero to deal with the other enemies that crop up.

This is one nasty card and so thematic for how it would feel to fight this thing...
