DB ERRATA: Unique icon property is missing.
The high defense and regenerate are what makes him a TOUGH nut to crack. I just run for the Door, with the help of my old friend Henemarth Riversong to show me the way, and leave the Watcher (I will engage him, if possible, as I don't want to have to face both his 4 threat and the 3 damage). 5 stars (very dangerous encounter card).

Just to clarify, Cards like 'Son of Arnor' or other effects can still force engagement with the watcher correct?

That looks right to me.

Yep. Optional engagement is only referring to the game framework that allows you to choose an enemy and engage it. All other forms of engagement are not considered "optional"
