At first glance this card looks terrible for a 5 cost, 1 Will, 1 Defense and 3 HP ally. But in a strong Leadership Gondor deck you could easily make him a 0 cost 3 Will, 1 Attack strength, 1 Defense and 3 hp ally.

With Sword that was Broken (TWitW) you need Aragorn (Core) or Aragorn (TWitW) to be able to get the 1 willpower. Any other hero only gains leadership

Yes, you CAN get him to be 0 cost and give him bonuses, but that will take time and resources to set up. Meanwhile the encounter deck is throwing things at you, threat is increasing, etc. How happy are you to see him in your opening hand (or two, or three)? Not very. Still, he has a role in the late game after the bonus-granting elements and his Gondor mates are in place. 3 stars (average).

It should be a 4-cost card, but mostly he will come for free after 2. or 3. round. And that is always handy.

I think its great that all Gondor allies in play count to reducing his cost, not just the ones you control, unless your playing solo of course.
