In theory, a very powerful ability. In practice, I've never been able to get it to work like I want. I feel like there's a deck involving Imrahil, creatures that die or return to hand for profit (Beorning Beekeeper (CatC), Bofur (TRG)
Escort from Edoras (AJtR), Gandalf (Core)) and

Horn of Gondor (Core). But I can't make it work. Yet.

Prince Imrahil plus Unexpected courage (core) means he could quest, defend and attack all in a single round, making full use of those great stats. Has fast become my favorite hero so far.

His ability together "chump block" allies deck make it amazing hero.

Him together with Eomer makes a great combo.

Both work well with bouncing silvans also.

Would Born Aloft's or other "return ally to hand" effects trigger Imrahil's ability?

They are leaving play, so yes, it does work.
