This card really suddenly makes frodo one of the best in the game, hands down.

I agree Tragic. I would also say Gloin (Core) is choice number 2 for this song. Put Self Preservation (Core) on him too and you can control a steady stream of resources.
When another hero defends, which dmg is transfered via song of mocking? The attack-dmg or only the dmg which really would land onto the defending hero?

The dmg that would go on the hero is redirected.  You still take the defenders defense into account as normal.
