This card has been errata'ed in FAQ 1.5: reveal has been replaced with look at.

Thank god for the errata, I had some ideas for this, but always giving up because the "When Revealed" effects on too many cards were just way to harsh to use it.

It addition to its obvious effect, it doubles as scrying, so eg. can be good to use just before shadows are dealt, and is also handy to change the top card, if a different scrying tool revealed something inconvenient about to happen.

It's quite a good card, you can always gain progress or lose one resource.

Huh. You know, I think I looked at this card once when I first broke open the box, didn't like it (probably because of the threat of a "when revealed" effect triggering), filed it away and never gave it a second thought until now.

This can actually be a really powerful card--especially with Henamarth Riversong on the board.

You have to shuffle the encounter deck before using it, so... But you always know the next card of the encounter deck.

Don't know if this was directed at me mentioning Henamarth Riversong, but I will reply in case it was. :)

It would be AWESOME if it didn't shuffle the deck before use but I was actually talking less about using Henamarth as a way to make sure Ravens of the Mountain hits hard and more as a way to gauge when you want to use this just to get rid of something nasty you see on top of the deck (Bye bye Troll, have a nice day Mumak, DIE SLEEPING SENTRY!).

It's not perfect, obviously, as it gets less useful the more players you have and you could always pull something as bad or worse--but even in that circumstance at least you put some progress on and you will still know what's coming.

So, does that mean only the person playing the card looks at it? The errata makes sense to make this a playable card, especially with all the when revealed treachery cards. But since my group limits table talk in that we don't share information for things we only have access to look at, changing the word from reveal to look makes me wonder what they meant: the owner of the card or the whole table?

only the owner gets to look at it.
