One could compare this to Easy Mark as another way to get 3 credits for a click, but that would be wrong. Assuming you wanted to run already, and are sure you'll succeed (eg no unrezzed ICE) this is 3 credits, for no clicks at all! Although you do need a spare two credits on top of your run cost to use Dirty Laundry, so it does lose to Easy Mark for ease of play.

So, a good alternative to Easy Mark, and available to all factions for no influence. A nice staple income card for future decks.
I disagree 2 credits to play, 1 click to draw, and 1 click to play means a net gain of 1 and it will probably stick in your hand for a while before playing to insure no risk of failing the run, doesn't seem worth the deck spot.

You can't count the click to play, because you will just play it if you want to make a run anyway.

Oops my mistake this card is much better now.
i don't think this is very good and certainly not a staple, because many Corp builds focus on defending every remote and every central, at which point this card becomes a dead card for long stretches, with the up front cost makes succeeding against unrezzed ice less likely.

would be much better as 0 Cost, gain 3 credits on a successful run, but even so not very good.

Brilliant card, money for a run you would have made anyways, hell yeah, this combos so nicely with Criminals in general and especially Desperado and Bankjob and you can still use it as Easy Mark (+2creds) if Archives are not protected.

issue is that if you are playing Criminal, there is a very good chance the Corp puts Ice on archives in preparation for or reaction to Sneakdoor Beta.

Wasn't there a card spoiled that gives you recurring credits, only usable on playing events? Or was that only run cards? Either way, that improves this card thousandfold, and it's already passable on its own. So, sure - why not.
This card is bananas in some builds and usually a criminal staple. Combine with either Desperado, John Masanori and/or Datasucker for even more amazing results.

Also combines with Pre-paid Voice Pad for an even bigger gain per use of the card.

An Easy Mark that costs credits to play and doesn´t guarentee success, some might claim.
It´s neutral though as opposed to EM
This is the worst case you are describing here. The big difference is that itsaves you a click because it let's you make a run as well. If it's a run you wanted to make anway or at least an archive run you get some other utitliy of with Datasucker/John Masanori/Desperado, the outcome is far better than Easy Mark.

As opposed to only describing the best case scenario?
Is it not better to try and take as wide a range of possible outcomes into account?
Otherwise it´s basically a "I just like/dislike this card"-kind of argument and you usually end up going out of your way to prove a point that you already made up in advance.

Think of it more as these cards fit different roles. Easy Mark and Make a Run will cost you two clicks and a card; Dirty Laundry saves you one of those clicks. Neither is inherently better than the other; sometimes you need to recover from 0 creds (or just need a risk-free 3 creds right now); other times you want to stack actions for efficiency. Dirty Laundry into an undefended Central with three Datasuckers and Desperado installed is a beast of an action (to take the best-case argument to a very high example ;) )

Thank you for putting it so concise.
This is a philosophy I try to apply to all card-analysis.
Which is why, when someone is quick to call a card ´good´ or ´bad´ I try to look for other arguments.
There are bad cards and they're designed to be bad on purpose. In this case however, both cards are good and serve different roles. Dirty laundry needs certain cards in the deck to be used to its full potential, while you can slap in Easy Mark pretty much anywhere. Dirty Laundry has a bigger reward, but Easy Mark needs no set up and always works.

Do you have a designer´s diary or an interview or a behind-the-cards reference for this statement?
Anything really. I am eager to broaden my mind.

I really hope this isn't true of Netrunner (although HaW is making me wonder). This has always been one of the things about CCG design that irritates me enormously, and I don't feel like design space benefits from it at all. I'd much prefer cards all be good, but different and interesting, than have 'bad cards' and 'cards which look bad, but are secretly good, and this is why we need cards which are genuinely bad to justify these hidden gems'.
I think it's pretty important to have such cards. Players want to be tested in their card evaluation. Being able to see which cards are viable and which are not is a very important skill in deck building and rewards a deep understanding of the game. I think it's exactly the way to go.

Bad cards are much more important anywhere where a drafting format has to be taken into consideration. I'd be surprised if Netrunner starts to design cards with the that specifically in mind. Other then that I don't see a reason to create purposely bad cards. I don't think Netrunner has any of those. I think HaW or Salvage were not designed to be bad on purpose probably simple game design misteps. Happens to everyone.

On topic, Dirty Laundry is an amazing card that rewards aggressive runners. Nothing wrong with that. The only true draw back is that you dont get the money until after the run is completed. So you can't use the credits from DL to trash anything that you access but other than that the card is awesome.

Shall I take that as a "no" then? :P
This card is amazing and very interesting and fun. In my opinion, this is one of the best designed cards in the game. It really makes a player's skill shine. This card is so much better in the hands of a skilled player than an unskilled one, and the challenge of using it properly really makes it fun to use.
