so this for the jintek Identity which requiores you to run on a central server. could work
Except by the time it's relevant, the runner will just Ninja right through it :D
(but at least he can't Mimic without help, that's something)

By "just Ninja right through it" you mean pay 5 creds a time, right?

Yep, that's exactly what I mean. Seeing how it takes 4 credits to break through a little Matrix Analyzer, that's not a (relatively) huge amount...
Who bothers spending 4 credits to break a Matrix Analyzer? Walk through it and see if the corp is serious about making a Trace-2 for 1-tag stick. Matrix Analyzer is there to advance cards.

Anyone who cannot afford the click to untag themselves.

Start Stacking Analyzers and Hunters and Shadows and see if the runner can just walk through first and untag later.
You could still pay for the traces.

Agreed, but the runner, having several options with Matrix Analyzer, has the initiative.

This is not really the case with Uroboros, so reducing the situation to a "this costs 5 to beat and Matrix Analyzer costs 4" does not really capture the relative difficulty of the two pieces of ICE:

Matrix Analyzer does not just "cost 4." It either costs 4, or it costs 2 and a click, or it costs whatever it takes to beat the trace (which may be nothing or more than 4, but perhaps we'll go ahead and see if the corp's coffers are as deep as ours are today), or it costs nothing and the runner ignores the tag, but it's the runner's choice.

Uroboros offers rather less choice to the runner, which is better for the corp.

That being said, Matrix Analyzer makes it into a lot more of my decks than Uroboros does.

Anyway, as always, good comment, Wolfone88
