Me too. When I use Corroder against sentries, I just keep getting hosed. It's also terrible against code gates and traps
Seriously, though, Alias is my least favorite of the central-only Criminal breaker suite.
Something that gets overlooked, however, is how well this breaker suite dovetails with the easy-to-splash Anarch breakers (Yog.0; Mimic; Corroder).
Breach starts becoming more efficient than Corroder at about strength 5, while Alias and Passport hit their stride at strength 4, right where an unsupported Yog or Mimic leaves off.
The card art here is a bit of a hint, but compare Mimic + Alias to a Garrote:
-Both take up 2 MU total
-Mimic + Alias is 1 credit cheaper to install than Garrote
-Mimic + Alias is 1 credit cheaper versus strength-3 sentries
-Garrote is 1 credit cheaper versus strength-5 sentries
-Mimic + Alias takes up more card slots, is more difficult to tutor, and uses a little bit of influence in Criminal, but it also stages well (you only need 3 credits to get it started, not 7). It's a little more adaptable to the board state (is the Corp only running strong or weak sentries, instead of a variety?).
Is Mimic + Alias competitive? It depends on your meta and your deck: it's at least a reasonable approach. The same goes for Yog.0 + Passport and Corroder + Breach.
