Do note that you can't escape from "When accessed" effects with Maya, as you may use the ability only after you have accessed it.

The only use I see for this is to combine it with RnD Interface to cycle faster, but then again, if you already have 2 RDIs the lock is already done. Why add insult to injury?

On the other hand this combos with DLR in a way, giving you a tag while allowing you to trash something more useful.

Obviously combos with Sareen, but this usually isn't all that desirable of an effect overall. Sareen can usually do better for a console than this. Otherwise, for runners other than Sareen, it is just bad.

This is the cheapest source of +2MU a shaper can get, though. I think it may be worth considering for that alone, if you don't need the text abilities of another console.

Leprechaun?

Leprechaun?

The problem with Leprechaun is, you need to install him first, and the desired programs afterwards. With plain extra MU you may install the programs first and then, as your rig progresses, the MU. (as long as you're not exceeding your max. MU)

Agreed. Straight +2 MU at 3 is much better for rapid rig building; further, Sareen is a runner, not a rig-builder, so it's perfect for her. She certainly doesn't want to hang out with Leprechauns all day -- not in this meta.

On top of that, the ability matters if you care about effective agenda density, multi-access, burying Operations, etc. Pretty useful with CBI Raid too, which is also pretty useful on its own, even if you don't have multi-access. It's a pressure card that puts a card of your choice in the least accessible place for the Corp -- plenty of ways for the Corp to play the game out of Archives. Bottom of R&D requires some work.

But +2 MU at 3 is solid. The current 2-star rating is not only missing the possibilities, it's a result of players dismissing this console too quickly (i.e. not actually giving it a shot). I wouldn't expect to see it outside of Shaper, but it's perfectly good there, especially these days, when you're splashing Anarch cards like Faust, not consoles.

I mean, Box-E is sitting at 3 stars. Box-E is not as good in Criminal as Maya is in Shaper . . . just sayin'

The statement was:

This is the cheapest source of +2MU a shaper can get, though.

The response was just directly addressing the literal falseness of the statement. I.e. this card costs $3, Leprechaun costs $2 and offers at least 2MU effectively.

There was no contextualization to sareen or rig building or awkward card pulls or anything else. If I had wanted to say anything along those lines I would have. The previous post I made about the card in general and the second post I made refuting the cheapest statement are two separate, discrete statements.

If the statement were more along the lines of "it is a cheap source of +2MU and worth considering for that alone.", there would be no quibble.

That logical theory in practice :)

I still think that even for the memory kick Maya is not worth it - if it is raw memory you are looking for that is not for installations (Overmind etc.) just pack some Memstrips. Otherwise NetChip+Replicator will do you more good for both installation issues and deck thinning.
