This forces the corp to make bad decisions. Either they rez the ICE and confront the runner with the subroutines, but then it gets destroyed. Or they don't rez the ICE to keep it alive, resulting in a safe access.
Gives Silverware decks something to do early in the game.
Since the run doesn't even have to be successful, crushes ETR ICE, especially early.
Yeah, this is awesome as a pen test on a server, particularly a remote or a lone ice over archives.
It basically says to the corps "put up or shut up".
Either way, unless they faceplant into something lethal, good things happen for the runner off of this card.
Good one or two of in many decks.
Even in a deck that doesn't sport a lot of ice dx, can work as a late game surprise.
