Nifty idea, obviously geared to run HQ/R&D, but he'll be the Whizzard of the set: OK, but situational and slow -- heavily dependent on the Corp's deck construction.

I actually disagree.  He's the Anarch I've used the most from this new box, and I've been loving him.  He's just solidly good, without needing to build a deck towards his ability.  Extremely prevalent factions rely on certain operations heavily, whether it's fast advance tricks or flatline strategies.  You can say it's heavily dependent on the corp's deck construction, but I haven't seen a corp without at least a decent amount of operations in quite some time.  Even just running and instantly trashing a Hedge Fund or something like that it great.  It takes away economy, removes a card out of their hand or off the top of R&D, it's just fantastic.  Doing some quick math of the top 16 decklists from Worlds, the average number of operations in these corp decks is around 12, roughly a quarter of the deck.

So I wouldn't compare him to Whizzard, who is extremely dependent on the corp's deck.  I would be more likely to compare him with Reina, who is just solidly good, and will always do something for you.  The link is a nice bonus, and I love the flavor of him too.  I'm just a fan.

Maybe when we have a larger cardpool we might see some corp decks without operations but as it is right now he works against every deck. Though for me it's the flavor that's keeping my hands off him.

I really like this ID, though to maximize him you really do want to be heavily focusing on multi access HQ + RD runs. His ability to disrupt combos and hoser cards is strong. It can disrupt many flavors of Fast Advance, and Scorch decks, offering an unusual combination of aggression and defense all in one.

Plus full influence and 1 link? Nice.

Very solid and reliable effect with no real downside.

I'm happy others are correcting my "meh" feeling about this card. I look forward to giving him a try.

I can't count how often i've run into a SEA Source or Hedge Fund and biting into the desk. Now I don't need Imp* anymore.

*Sure, trashing ICE has its benefits. But whatever.

I can see myself running this guy WITH Imp and Demolition Run and maybe even Wanton Destruction to just smash everything. Now to figure out the rest of the deck, LOL!

Run this with Imp and you can trash most cards you see. Definitely going to give him a spin.

Is Ed *REQUIRED* to trash the first operation, or is it optional? Be nicer if you can choose not to trash when the situation calls for it.

He is required. There's no card text indicating that it's optional (e.g. "You may trash . . .). Current text is imperative: "Trash the first operation."
