Really?! Hivemind comes with his own -cheap- protection?
...
*flatlined*
Power Shutdown loves killing this. Loves it!
Definitely a good card as part of a deck built around Hivemind, but deck slots and play order mitigate its usefulness in general.
In general, yes. But for the special case of Hivemind, maybe not. Depends on what other cards in your deck Hivemind is enabling.
While Djinn acts as a tutor and can host up to 3 programs, Progenitor has its advantages.
First, it costs 0 MU and 0 credits, while Djinn costs at least 1 MU and 2 credits. Second, let's say you have 3 of these and each one acts as a host for one of the following viruses: Darwin, Medium, Nerve Agent. So even when the corp purges virus counters, it won't hurt you that much. Medium/Nerve Agent gives you access to 2 cards in RD/HQ, while Darwin starts at strength 1 (2 if you pay at the beginning of your turn). So the ramp up time isn't that long anymore.
