What I like about this ID is that the runner can't ignore a Swordsman or Cortex Lock (assuming 1 unused MU) anymore. Also, Data Mine and Gemini are now decent ICE.
I like sniping. Not sure if this is strong enough to compete with RP or PE, but it's interesting.
So this versus Titanium Ribs...what happens? XD
I think it was a timing priority issue - because the trigger for both cards is the same, it depends on whose turn it is. If it is the Corp - Ronin, Neural EMP and stuff, Chronos Protocol triggers first and the Corp player chooses the card. If it is the Runner's turn, well, the Corp never gets to choose anything.
Correct me if I missed something.
This was my understanding of Lucas' twitter response to this question as well.
What do you guys think about sniping I've Had Worse? Sure, it makes the runner less likely to get flatlined in the turn it gets trashed, and the runner is getting access to more cards in his deck. On the other hand, he is far more likely to get flatlined as the game progresses into the mid and late game. Because all his safety copies are in the heap at this point.
Edit: Possibly combined with Genetics Pavillon or Sweeps Week?
Well, you are looking at the Runner's whole hand - if you don't see anything better to snipe at that moment, than why would you actually help him save a click and a credit to see 3 cards that have a decent chance to be better than the once he is currently stuck at? If he is about to empty his Stack, than helping him do it is reasonable because he has 3 less chances of survival.
I see Chronos Protocol not as a flatline ID, but as the best informed Jinteki division ever - use the ability to know the Runner's options at that moment, don't give him more. But of course, your mileage may vary
I can see your point. But let's say a Genetics Pavillon is rezzed and the runner has already drawn one or two cards before making the run. Maybe then it would be a clever thing to do, trashing IHW without the runner profiting from it?
Well,in that case it is a good card to target.
