At first glance this card looks too good. But most unique cards have strong capabilities. This'll most likely solidify Weyland's overall strength, especially with the new Identity. Slap this down, use it to protect itself at first, milk it for what its worth, then get 6 back for new fun things to do...
This card brought some life back to my Great Wall of Weyland variant (glacier deck with advanceable ice, commercialization, trick of the light), but it does make me support an extra remote and thins my ice out by at least one depending on how badly I want to keep it alive. Works great in the context of that particular deck style; but I wouldn't try to run it in other decks.
Cons:
Hard to rez and protect in the early game / phase 1 and is basically a dead draw if in my opening hand or one of my first 3-5 pulls.
Makes the corp go a little more horizontal in a deck archetype that prefers to be narrow but deep (glacier)
If the corp already has the edge, it is more or less a "win more" card
Pros:
The runner tends to hesitate to trash off of R&D or out of HQ (or can't afford to, situationally)
In the middle game / phase 2 this can be a really good and flexible economy boost
Can help force the game from phase 1 to phase 2 if ice are in place and money to rez is the impediment
It is a decent foil for Account Siphon (spend 6 to rez to drain credit pool, get 3 recurring credits)
Synergy with Commercialization and ToL; it helps support both econ and fast advance
Synergy with advanceable ice; an ice wall rez'd and advanced with free Root credits can quickly become a taxing pita for the runner
Respectable trash cost
Can help score agendas even with 0 credits in the pool, sparing a lot of clicks.
Ah good comment Him. I'd misread this as having "cards in this server" which is doesn't !
Thematically speaking, I'm surprised it's so cheap to trash the only support to the largest space elevator on the planet.
I mean... you'd think it would cost more than EVE Campaign wouldn't you?
Trashing by the Runner is usually done in cyber-space. You are not literally destroying the foundations, you are cutting off the net systems for the elevator customs and business relations - therefore you can't rely on the economic benefit of the Beanstalk and the communications it provides via the direct transfer of information, people and goods from orbit.
Just my two cents.
