The corp that can really stand up to the criminals out there
Forget what analysts are saying about this ID. Expect to see it, and see it a lot in tournament settings. TWIS was also disregarded when it first came out.

Is this 10 credits plus the starting 5, or 10 total?

10 total.
This card is above average now but once Weyland has some code gate ice and a larger card pool it becomes beautiful. If only it had 15 influence, although I'd also like it to require only 40 cards.
Minimum 40 deck that starts with 10c would be insaaaaaaaaaaaaaane (ie, strong); as it is, the min. 45 is fine but you'll just have to sort your influence very carefully.
Still not sold on it. BP at the start of the game can be pretty horrifying, and I'm not sure the extra 5 creds can make up for it. Plus, there's the opportunity cost of not using BBW.

Once the Runner ends his 5th run in the game, this ID gets mathematically blank.
You got 5, so did he.

Onwards, you're just losing money.

So he who plays it has to focus on early aggression (Restructure turn 1, big ICE, Sea Source + Double Scorched.

Although I know what you mean, I've got to say that's a pretty strange use of the word 'mathematically'. Excuse the pedantry.

I really want to like GRNDL, but I find it difficult to argue for. Early doors restructure seems great until you realise it has the same profit margin as Hedge Fund does for Building a Better World.

The early pace is great. I think the main thing is that you can rez significant ICE on HQ and R&D pretty much right away. There are also builds that mean the bad publicity is less bad than it might be against say, Haas Bioroid. A trashed corroder is just as trashed no matter how many credits you have to run with. That said, it's hard to argue that the pace is worth the bad publicity in the long run. Added to that, you're screaming 'I will try to rush through a Scorch' by playing this ID.

i really like the theme of unabashed earth-rapists, real bad guys. BBW has a better economy overall, but having those credits in hand turn 1 means needing less cheap ice because you're not afraid to draw your big timers on your opening hand.

i'm currently experimenting with a deck that uses removal of BP as part of its economy, mainly as a response to valencia. with primarily the elisabeth mills/restoring face combo along with witness tampering it costs us about 3 units to remove 1 BP and can remove about 7 BP per game. this enables us to use hostile takeover, geothermal fraking, plus illict ice, like grimm and swarm to trash programs with relative impunity. this is GRNDL's long game; lock it down with big ice and score some early game, then setup to ambush the runner with destroyers(the good old fashion hostile takeover/archer hasn't lost any of its bite), and score the winning agenda while she scrambles to re-build.

I have never been fond of this ID - 5 credits simply doesn't seem adequate compensation for game-long debilitation via BP and restrictive deckbuilding owing to 5 fewer influence - but with the introduction of the Most Wanted List really hammering home just how restrictive 10 influence is I would like to nominate GRNDL for worst corp ID currently in the game.

I have grown fond to this ID recently. You start with some extra cash and can play immediately that Restructure from hand and rez some costly, but nice boobytrap-ICE that no-one seems to expect.

"You want to facecheck my ICE protecting R&D with your last click? Sure, go ahead." *rez Janus and deal some sweet braindamage*

No, Custom Biotics is the worst. GRNDL at least does something.

Actually, BWBI and TWIY* are the worst. Custom Biotics is fantastic for fast-advance strategies, coupled with some yellow cards. Plus, it doesn't care about the NAPD Most Wanted List.

They are all bad. Let's just leave it at that. I happen to like Grndl, you can like Biotics.
