When does the corp ever keep the entire central server easy to access?! This reminds me of how useless notoriety is

Notoriety is guaranteed to be worth something, this... well, not so much.

Run 3 copies of this in a Kate deck with Datasuckers and Doppelganger and Notoreity. Combined with All Nighter, have had high scoring turns of scoring off of R&D, checking archives and HQ (and gaining tokens) and both stealing with this and a point with Notoreity.
This card is very useful against OBS builds, especially if they are not rezzing centrals ICE in case you run said remote. Also bypasses Ash which can be critical!

This suddenly has a new life in light of the newest suite of central-only breakers from H&P - run the central breakers and keep this in case you ever need to access something important from a defended remote.

How does the accessing actually works with this card? Do you access-steal an agenda in a remote or access an upgrade at the root of a server and trash it without having to pass through the ice,for example?

You got it. Pick an installed card; access it. Steal an agenda or get hosed by a Junebug.

 

Nice if you have expose effects like Silhouette and get extra runs with something like Doppelganger.
