Wow, This card just has so much versatility. I love it
This is exactly the kind of ICE Jinteki needed. I can't wait to find out how often I'll use it's paid ability.
I think this ICE is more intended for its usefulness versus the Caissa programs and parasite decks. Don't you dare host anything on my ice. Also, against Criminal decks, if you're running on HQ, I can add another non-agenda card to my hand mid-run, lowering the odds of you scoring points. 5 stars, IMO.

Even without the runner using Caissa and Parasites, this lets a Jinteki deck move their shell game out of the server and into the ICE. It also lets you pull them all into hand before a runner accesses HQ to either reduce the odds of getting an Agenda or as a bluff that there is an Agenda in hand at all.
A barrier with strength=cost is decent enough (see ice wall, wall of static, bastion). A bit weaker than ice wall (costs one more to rez, has the same effect when no breaker is out and costs the same to break with Corroder), I think. The ability might come in handy against some decks. But anyway, Jinteki really needed some playable low-cost ICE.

This is a perfect jinteki ICE... finally no Icewall import anymore and it works with Whirlpool (If we ever get it working properly)
Stupid question.. Can the Runner pay that credit to put the ice in the hand of the Corp?

In the same manner that the corp can spend 1 click to get 2 credits from Magnum Opus.
Which is to say "not at all".

This ice is incredible. I love it for so many reasons, a lot of which are listed above, and its a reubics cube :D
Two influence means it will probably stay in jinteki however.

Not necessarily. It's a nice piece of ice to vary your ice strengths for Atman. Run Ice Wall, this, Wall of Static and Bastion as one-offs and you have three hard ice that can't be broken by the same Atman without Datasuckers.
I think I'd prefer multiple ice walls and if they are running atman advance one once. One extra click for cheaper early defense and an additional influence.

It's not only a click, it's a credit as well and you pretty much telegraph the Ice Wall if it's unrezzed and you're not Weyland. It's also worth noting that Hitsumi is pretty good against Parasite.
I see your point though.

I mean a click over himitsu's cost, maybe it's just me but I'd rather have advancement over return to hand. This is in part because of how many layers of ice I typically have. Usually my ice walls don't stay unrezzed for long anyways.

Chum > Himitsu-Bako as the last two ICE in front of an Awakening Center upgraded server is funny.

Have you gotten that combo to fire off yet? I know you were telling me about it.

If that's what you're wanting this for, Snowflake is strictly better. Actually, from my testing, Snowflake is still strictly better than this one :)

That makes no sense. Chum --> Snowflake will always be Chum --> Snowflake. The idea is that if the runner doesn't break Chum, you can trigger Bako's ability to change to Chum --> Big Bioroid.

Plus, I have no idea how Snowflake could be better than Bako, but I'm willing to listen. IMO Snowflake is a bookmark.

its a reubics cube :D

Alas, no it is not.

Rubik's Cubes are 3x3x3, not 4x4x2. The Hamitsu-Bako is a puzzle box. http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Puzzle_box
I'm assuming you can use the Cube's ability when its in Archives to move it back to HQ as well?

You are assuming wrong.
A cards text is only active when it is installed and rezzed, unless specifically stated otherwise; which it isn´t in this case.

Even at 2 influence, this ICE is still good in other factions, especially early game. Toss it down in front of R&D or HQ (or Archives if they're running Crim or early Datasuckers), and then once your economy is going and you have better options, swap it out for nastier ICE. A specific example: if you're playing HB, and you use Himitsu-Bako to protect R&D early in the game, you can install other ICE in front of it (Eli, Vicktor, etc), and then replace Himitsu-Bako with Zed. It will certainly make the Runner think twice about making that run...

A doubt. If you have this ice and the runner use a parasite with grimoire installed, could you add it to HQ before a second parasite?

You will usually have a paid ability window to do so before the runner's next turn.

I mean in the runner's turn. If the runner plays two parasites with grimoire installed in the same turn, could the Corp use the bako's ability and add it to HQ before a second parasite or not?
