I agree. I don't really get why you would print this Caissa with only one other Caissa. I understand it will be good when they print more Caissa, but they should have waited then, and printed Pawn later.
Technically, how this card is worded, if you just install Pawn and don't host it, the trash and replace ability should trigger immediately after a successful run. "Whenever you make a successful run, move Pawn to the piece of ice directly after the current ice hosting Pawn, if able; otherwise, trash Pawn instead and install a Caïssa program from your grip or heap, ignoring all costs. " If you never spend a click to host pawn, you can never move pawn ... "if able; otherwise" ... then moves to the "otherwise" clause. I wonder if a FAQ document would correct this. Obviously, ignoring the hosting mechanic is not in the spirit of Caissa.

There is an updated FAQ just released today by FFG.

Here is the info on Pawn:

Pawn (Opening Moves, 2), with its original wording, allowed players to play against its intended ability by not hosting it on a piece of ice. This was not the intent on the card, and the ability to search for another Caïssa program now requires Pawn to be hosted on a piece of ice. We will correct the text on all future printings of the card.

Here is the correction:
Pawn ( 2)
Should read: “Whenever you make a successful run while
Pawn is hosted on a piece of ice, move Pawn to the piece of ice
directly after the current ice hosting Pawn, if able...”
Wow, the first official, honest to god card errata? That's actually a pretty good track record.
I have trouble choosing this one over Deja-Vu within a deck. Afterall, the option to grab multiple virus or any single card that I want back from the heap is quite a bit more powerful. The cost of Caissa is often nothing or 2 credits. I guess however, that if you have Deep Red in play that the Pawn instead of the Deja-Vu could potentially save you 5 credits or so, since there would have been 2 to play Deja-Vu, 1 to install after Deja-Vu, and 2 to play that Knight or Rook once more. I think I have convince myself that I should be using these more in a Caissa deck.
