I really want to like Illicit ice, but I just can't. $5 and a BP for a 3 cost ice just seems very underwhelming. Easily dies to Shutdown and Parasite and 3 strength is just not strong enough. 3 Strength is a great number to put Atman at, so both Atman and Mimic break this for $3 or $1 if you don't care about tags. Ninja does a little worse, but it's still only $4 if you don't care about tags.

It's probably the best of the currently released Illicit ICE. That doesn't say much, but the card is at least decent. Shinobi (Jinteki's Illicit ICE) will be really good though.

Maybe, maaaybe if you manage to Chum this it would be sweet but yeah, I too am underwhelmed. Still going to try it though as I do play Making News.

I'm rather underwhelmed by Shinobi as well. Sure, it will be better than the Illicit ice we have so far, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Shinobi is also very low strength and dies to parasite and Shutdown very easily.

Shinobi's main strength, IMO, is that it gives a rich Jinteki a way to kill a runner with one card. That doesn't sound very good now, but with the spoiled Jinteki cards (and Profiteering/Restructure) the meta could develop to where rich Jinteki isn't so uncommon.

Edit: I forgot Celeb Gift.

I guess if you are rich and don't care about BP too much then it won't hurt too much when it gets parasited... I dunno

I use it in my Psychographics deck, and it works wonders. Runner sees it, takes 3 tags and is happy about it. Next turn, I score a nice Astroscript from hand. People think that a plascrete is enough to go tag-me mode
