Does it work with the new Pilot(X) - I mean if the Pilot enhancement is treated as a unit when it leaves play? I would assume no, but just to make sure...

If the pilot is deployed using his pilot (x) keyword, then he becomes an enhancement when he enters play. So he would still be an enhancement when he left play.
