Aggro
A Black Squadron theme deck focusing on Fighters
Objective ()
Order by: NameTypeCostObjective
Total Cards: 0
The deck is pretty straightforward: hit hard, hit fast, hit often, with lots and lots of cheap Fighters. With blast icons on 26 out of the 28 units in this deck -- and the means to put blast icons on the two copies of Black Two, if needed -- as well as the hilarious economy boost from Guarding Their Wing, this deck creates a full court press scenario, smothering the light side in threats to their objectives and forcing them onto the defensive. The mass of fighters can also be used to bring down incoming threats by covering them in more unit damage from more sources than they have the ability to deal with. DS-61-3 and the TIE Attack Squadrons provide the means to cut anything down to size if it's shy about getting in the fight or big enough push through the other units.
This deck's defensive strategy is to force the light side attackers to fly through a hurricane of fighters that will drown them in unit damage. Once you've stabilized and can tank the light side's offensive, it's time for you to turn around and murder them. With Fel and the 181st Interceptors, the Force struggle should be within your grasp soon enough, and Vader just shuts things DOWN.
If you want to try to fit the theme still, there is always going for one of the "Death squadron" Star Destroyers instead of the Defense Protocol as Death Squadron was Vader's Star Destroyer Fleet in Episode V, so it could technically be an extention of Black Squadron.

Death Squadron's a strong pod with some decent resources, but are its resources good enough on their own? Seems like it would need a deck with an even stronger resource base in addition to its own econ assistance, since if you DON'T draw the other cards in the pod the Star Destroyers are dead weight.
I've got a similar deck except that I have defense protocal instead of kuat reinforcements. Same events, I'd rather have defense location over kuat, same with tie squad over backstabber, and you can never go wrong adding a twist to the deck. Despite the fact that you give up 2 black squadron units as the back stabber, I still think the tie squad with potential targetted strike in a deck with plenty of fate cards is better. I've never had a resource shortage in my deck either, especially if I get the location for black squadron cards being used as resources. I've tried both versions and just think its better with defense protocal
