Any deck with Dark Lord of the Sith wants an objective deck with predominantly Sith objectives so you can trigger it consistently. "Force Hunter" decks are typically ones that come with two copies of Bane Malar and GA Palp instead of Core Palp. The idea is you can do a bunch of different tricks involving the Force with things such as GA Palps objective and 4 Echoes. That deck though doesn't really translate into a 5/5 split like you're trying to do there.
I'd be worried that with Xizor, Vader and Palp that you'll have too many 5-drops that you can't play T1 (getting Masterful to a T1 Vader or Xizor is nice but you're not going to be able to consistently find it on the flop). And honestly I'm of the opinion that No Disintegrations doesn't cut it anymore nowadays; Boba and the resource are great but everything else is garbage and it's a low-edge pod with a mediocre objective.
I can give you a few recommendations but it really depends on what you're searching for: Are you looking for a deck that puts your opponent into tricky positions with the Force struggle and do you want to keep the 5/5 split to make use of the added refresh?
I don't necessarily agree with force hunters not working in a 5/5. Bane malar is awesome with the promise of power affiliation. He becomes quite difficult to lock down.
Been toying around with
Promise of power:
2 hunter for hire
2 hunter in the night
1 spice trade
2 DLOTS
2 power of the dark side
1 Plan of the prophetess
Obviously dark lord of the sith won't typically be 'on', but deck is still strong and the energy spiders are awesome with the new affiliation card. Plus hallucinating echoes or better yet 'visage' is pretty wild.
Also Djas is force sensitive. Plus master of the night helps combat the lunacy that is BTS obi.
Ephant mon is a cool include in this sorta deck as well!
If you're hoping to use there is no conflict vader in your deck you could maybe try the sith/scum 2 resource affiliation
I honestly think that Sith into Scum affiliation is a trap. I haven't had much success with building around Fate Vader with a Sith/Scum deck. About as close as I can get it is:
x2 Fate Vader, GA Palp, Bane, Pilot Boba
x1 Janus, Scum flex (probably Spice Trade but there's decent choices in Recon Mission, Menagerie and Ephont Mon)
There are a few things I like about the deck; good overall edge, plenty of Fate cards for Vader and the 2-resource affiliation means you can play a 2/1 and a 4-drop on T1 (although none of the Scum 4-drops are particularly great starting units). I don't particularly think Boba belongs in there but I had trouble fleshing out the resource curve on the Scum side and that was as good as I could get it. He brings high edge, a green resource (which is great since DS suffers from a lack of Influence), a fate card and decent units. If you run Spice Trade, you'll get a 2-resource objective about 80% of the time which means you could get a T1 Palpy somewhat consistently.
I think running Scum gives you access to a lot of better pods than running Sith. I've been doing a lot of theorycrafting with a core of Xizor, Pilot Boba and Shuttle lately; that more or less guarantees that you'll have a 2-resource objective on the flop so you can either drop in Xizor or a 2/1 and a 4-cost ship that can be essentially Elite due to the refresh affiliation. I will admit though I've been so stuck in that mode that I've forgotten that the refresh is great for the Spiders and Bane.
I don't like running more than four 5+ cost units in any given deck so I'm still reluctant to throw Vader into a deck with Xizor and Palp (Xizor and Vader aren't thematic matches anyways
). I like what you're doing with Force Hunters with the Scum/Sith affiliation though.
I agree, I don't think the Sith into scum affiliation is as good as the scum into sith. I tried it yesterday and I lost pretty badly aha. Meanwhile my Scum into Sith deck has been performing much better. I think the removing an extra focus token is typically more valuable than the 2 resources.
That's also a great point you brought up about the scum into sith one giving you access to a lot of better pods than sith into scum. I like there is no conflict quite a lot but the fact that it doesn't come with a resource gives you less options when it comes to picking the rest of your sets. Plus there are so many strong scum only objectives. Xizor is a great example of that like you pointed out!
Yeah I've found that the refresh ability on the spiders is very strong and I love the refresh ability in general.
And oh I can understand why you are reluctant to throw vader into that deck of yours. Also, trueeee xizor and vader would be at each others throats ahah. That'd be a lot of expensive units. I'm guessing you're using emperors web palpatine in your deck?
And thanks for saying that
Here's a few ideas I had in my head:
x2 Xizor, Pilot Boba, Shuttle, Black Two
x1 Emperor's Sword, Scum Flex
x2 Xizor, Pilot Boba, Shuttle, Core Palp
x1 Ponda Baba, Sith Flex
It sucks that the third pack won't come out until probably the tail end of this year but the new Sith night objective would compliment Djas. You are right that there probably is a Force Hunter deck that fits into the new affiliations although I'd have to give it a lot of thought to find something that suits me!
