You could also, easily, put in the Victory or Death set x2, dropping 1 Death & Despayre & 1 Ultimate Power.
VoD is not really worth it, the Victory-class are too conditional. The deck is pretty good and consistent as it is.
With shields being more popular, Sabotage in the Snow can be a good situational pick.
I could see VoD having a place in a weird AT-AT/DTP deck, I'd pay 3 for them with Orbital Supply any day. Or in a deck like this as a one-of. Happen to hold the force? Drop one down. Otherwise, good edge card.
Thanks for the thoughts.
Played this last night, pretty strong when you get the right setup. Having Blockade, Deploy and Repair in my objective flop just wasn't fair to my opponent
I really like the synergy between Repair, Deploy, and Thunderflare, though I still hesitate to run any deck that relies on relatively few large units and on having the right objectives out--this could fall really flat if you don't have a way to reduce the cost of your SDs. Imagine having D&D, Ultimate Power and Imperial Command as your start :/ Also, ISDs are terrible unless you get the Needa discount on them. They just don't justify being 5 drops, but they're good units for 3.
I really liked having Tarkin available; though I never drew him, I did get to use Superlaser Blast. Devastator + Superlaser is a fun way to get dial turns without focusing units to kill objectives.
I like the idea of getting one Unstoppable Advance in there for the Orbital Supply; I could also see Aggressive Assault + Tarkin winning games if you got lucky. That said, I don't know what I'd take out to get it. Maybe DTF, since 4 DSSDs seems like overkill in a deck, but then again you probably want 2 copies of Admiral's Orders and you want to see the objective.
Anyway, all these discussions have probably been had before, since SDs as a decktype have been around for awhile, but those damn cap ships will always have a place in my heart.
Curious about Devastator. Can I pay more then one resource to get more clicks on the dial?
Once per objective. You can't pay twice to advance 2 for a single objective destroyed, but if you destroy several objectives in the same turn, you can react to each one of them, provided you have enough resources.
No. The ability is a reaction to the objective being destroyed, so it's only triggered once per objective destroyed. The triggering condition doesn't stay active for you to resolve the reaction again.
Ok, that's how I've been playing it.
Being an old time magic player and seeing that some cards have X, pretty sure that's how it would've been worded if that was FFGs intention.
And my question is about kuat reinforcement. Is it so necessary in this deck? I played sth similiar but instead of reinforecement put counsel of the sith and actually that was only reason i won because access to more cards is very beneficial.
Eventually is there anything to remove for counsel of the sith?
kuat reinforcement is good because reduce cost for the capital ships
Yeah, i felt it and know i find its almost neccessary there. However i have important question:
How the hell play against this deck?
Normally i use ewoks, jedi force control or spies with solo falcon, lando and only deck i had chance to win against these destroyers was my rebel aggro.
I cant see the way to win except just destroying opponent first, which means in maximum 2 or maybe 3 turns.
The biggest problem I've always had with capital ship decks is that they are vulnerable to tactics. You do have 4 of them with shielding which will be the best ones for avoiding this problem. However, you run into jedis like yoda who can throw out 3 tactics on top of the fact that he only costs 3 to deploy in comparison. Theres also the other yoda who gets big enough to one-shot these ships as the game goes on. Rebels now have a potential answer as well with desperation. A bit of early damage from them followed by a board wipe as you get close to victory. If you've been damaging your own objective to get your star destroyers out, its even more likely that they will kill you on the following turn after they play it. I love the capital ship decks. I think they need another decent one with shielding to be able to handle the jedis a bit better.
U pointed it perfectly, quick assault with rebels is great, esspecialy when they damage their own objectives.(why am i only one who i know who play rebel/spy rush?
)
With jedi.... Well maybe i just had bad draw, after few more tests i let you know how it goes, btw my jedi is similiar to this http://www.cardgamed...-you-always-r48
Looks good except for jedi training. Can think of several pods I'd rather have in there before that: spider, new yoda, survivors
some of the rebel hoth enhancements have anti vehicle control which might go up well against this deck maybe. Rebel hoth decks are quite good if you make it right.
