What I really like is all the free events to play and trigger Luke's skyhopper or to discard and gain combat icons. I love the plotting about Jyn and the nudges + Brainiac, but there might be a snag. Someone smarter than me on this forum, feel free to correct, but I think that Brainiac's ability triggers at action speed and the nudges trigger at reaction speed. The problem with the nudges is that there is no action window between deploying the nudges and their reaction triggering. The first action window you have is after the nudge is already deployed. Brainiac's ability would, however still work with Jyn, as there are many action windows available in the conflict phase before Jyn's reaction would trigger.

 

BTW, well-laid ambush is so sweet! What's better than targeted strike? Surprise targeted strike!

 I see what your saying, I see the timing issue now that you brought that up. Thanks for the heads up. Still, so many possibilities.

I really thought you meant to reduce 1 in Nudj's Forced Reaction before it leaves play. So there is way to decrease Death Star dial for 2 (because of 2 Nudjes) without returning clicks back.

Unfortunately that is a forced interrupt which triggers after the Nudj has left play. Brainiac's ability would no longer apply to a card out of play. I really do wish it would work and maybe I'm wrong about the interactions.

You're right, that is interrupt, but this is why it triggers before unit actually leaves play.
 

The question is - should it work if that was reaction (and hence triggered after unit leaves play)? I'll go to read about Brainiac again, very tricky card.

 

Added: Brainiac's effect expires as soon as card leaves play (look here), so the combo wouldn't work if Nudj had forced reaction instead of interrupt.

On your first question - no, Brainiac doesn't work with event and fate cards, because they are not in play.

 

On second - yes, Brainiac can change any numeral whatever it describes - action, reaction, interrupt, passive ability, edge (1), title, number of objective set, e.c.
