It's literally just all of the top-tier pods smashed together. I've spent more time trying to figure out what affiliation to run than the time it took to figure out the decklist (and I still could use your help figuring that out).
Pros for Rebel: Overall the Smuggler objectives have higher priority anyways so I'd rather play them over the Rebel ones. Also more Rebel cards that I want to play. Teamwork can also have some major power in this deck so having an affiliated resource to play that would be nice. I also have a spot-gloss Rebel card I want to play with.
Pros for Smuggler: Hard hitting mains in Jyn and Falcon that I always want to be able to play. It would really suck if I couldn't play Deneba as well. Running Smug means I want to see Cassian's objective which means more discount shenanigans (Call to Action -> Free Resource -> T1 Falcon is the idea here).
Yay for a lack of creativity. At least tri-color is pretty cool.
So I'm wondering what Hera does for you here. Wouldn't you rather see a Luke or a zeb? Or 1 Hera 1 zeb? With only one Spector the mission isn't doing a lot. I dunno. Am I just missing the Value of Hera in a non Spector deck? Entirely possible as I was out of the game for the last few months
Welcome back! Hera's pod may not seem that amazing at first, but it's easily one of the best Rebel pods in the game.
It may not be the most explosive pod in the world but it's really rock-solid. It comes with 3 excellent units. The Ghost is a hell of a main (especially with Jyn for double-striking), Hera is very well-costed for her value (if one thing Tarkin and Yoda have taught us it's to never underestimate a 3-cost, 3 health unit with black tactics and elite) and the Phantom's protect is unbelievably annoying for DS (stacking that with Cassian's chuds is even better).
The 1/1 is well appreciated because I feel like a deck with double Cassian will require a bit of a higher cost curve because you want to have an open resource at all times for a potential event cancel (that and I feel that the Falcon is a really expensive pod as well). Call to Action doesn't really have much to offer in this deck. It's kind of a win more card; you really only end up playing it if you know you can blow it up that turn. But, it's a two-pipper and the dream combo is using it with Cassian's objective to play a resource for free and a Falcon T1.
The worst thing about the pod is the objective which is something you really don't want to see if you're running Rebel affiliation and that's not bad at all. I don't want to play a Luke because if MTF are my only two Jedi objectives I won't be penalized if I don't have a Jedi resource on the board (although my game becomes radically different when I don't draw the objective because of how broken it is). Yoda becomes an edge card if I can't play him and I only have to worry about YYSY being a dead card as a minimal downside.
There is a consistency argument to be made for replacing Hera with Zeb, but I've realized Jyn is I wanted Zeb to be outside of a Spark deck. Zeb's a heavy hitter but he's not elite and his objective is still kind of mediocre in this context. The influence is nice, but you have 3 resources that can provide Smuggler resource matching anyways. There's also just a neat appeal in running tri-color.

Hera does plenty, but the real draw is Ghost. That thing is a monster. Phantom is super good too.
