Get that dial to 12 by controlling the board. Wampas are great against Rebels. Ice Trompers + Tactics crush Jedi. Throw in Succumbed, Interrogation, Interrogation Droid and Palpatine, and you can either pull their good cards out of hand or lockdown any cards in play. Rogue 3 doesn't do much with 4 focus on it! Make sure you mulligan into some resources. Always choose at least one Hoth objective and Council of the Sith. You need to play the deck very fast to finish your game in time. Crush a few objectives at the end of the game for tiebreaking points. Basically, lockdown your opponent with "The Hoth Lockdown."

My question is what if you do not get CotS in your 4 objectives you get to pick from?

Are you saying if you have zero resource cards in your first hand muligan, even if you have a great starting hand?
I always want to have a Hoth objective first, that's priority 1. Next is Council of the Sith, next cruel interrogations. After that I like a 2nd Hoth Objective, Fall of the Jedi, Web, and finally the imperial objective. Basically I don't like Web much because it is just easier to knock out and I it doesn't run that many sith events that need to be reduced. And I rarely want the Imperial one because if I draw into Shadows I would only have 1 Sith which is very dangerous.

My question would be what is a great hand with no resources? The resources are what let you play the great cards. An opening hand Palpatine with 4 resources is garbage. Now if I were to get 2 Wampas and some good stuff with a Hoth objective out, well I might keep that. But generally I want to set up that first turn with a resource if I can. It's hard to make hard rules with decks you will just have to play the deck a few times to determine what hands are worth keeping. And as always it is wholly dependent on what archetype your opponent is playing.
Instresring, thank you for the write up! Very helpful:)
    Congrats on the win!

I like that the list because it is different than a lot of the Sith decks. Icetrompers with the tactics are very sick. I don't like the fact there's only one Counsel of the Sith ( I even ran Reconnaissance Mission in my deck because I like having three objectives that provide an extra card, which increases your chance of double hand advantage objectives). I feel like hand advantage is huge in this game, and it increases your chances of drawing the cards you need and make you less reliant on luck (2x Counsel, 1 Reconn., and 2x Fall of the Jedi means you're filtering your deck like a champ). Would you say that lack of the second counsel hurt at all?

A player this weekend at our regional made top 4 with a very similar deck -1 The Emperor's Web and +1 Counsel, but I don't think that's the change I'd do to it. Any pods not performing as well as you would have liked? Also, what were your points overall for the tournament in swiss and in top cut?
I swept all my games on the day. However, I ran pretty good. In most games I saw the one council which is not going to be typical. I will almost certainly be testing a build without Motti and adding another council because that objective is so good. As you rightly state in a control deck hand size is everything. One thing I loved about the deck is having so many 1 ofs. It is very confusing at the beginning of the game. In the last few weeks I've heard things like "Wait so you aren't running Palpatine in this deck??" Of course my response is "Of course not he's way overrated." Only to then drop him a few turns later with a wry grin. The real problem I'm having is that all the pods are performing great. So I'm having a difficult time tweaking the deck. The Imperial Vader pod was under performing so it hit the bricks. I almost even went with 11 pods to get a second council in, but force lightning and Palpatine are far too important to dilute the odds of drawing them. I'll post an update next week after testing the deck without Motti. I may end up making that change, but man losing Motti is rough he is often the MVP.
