Is the Vader pod in for thematic reasons or do you really like the way he works in the deck? If the deck feels clunky, what do you think you will take out, and will you put in Death and Despayre?

I like the Vader pod in general. The probe droids are good and Vader in play gives his extra damage to each unit. Also imperial suppression is free. There are plenty of resources in this deck so I don't see Death and Despayre's objective card being that big of a deal. And everything in that pod you can get somewhere else... except for the death star dial function, one of which would be on the "eh" imperial officer card. That IS a drawback but looking back at the games I've played, I have only seen it utilized a handful of times.

Using 2 copies each of four or five objectives seems to be everyone's preference, but the Veers pod and Endor Gambit are basically the same thing, (except I hated that walker officer with the edge dependent tactic icon). and if anything I would almost prefer to double up on Deploy the Fleet instead. There are also a handful of other pods I could see myself throwing in there involving troopers or other effects.

That being said this game is often played for fun, and if I ever made it to a tournament I would most certainly be using a different deck altogether. Clunky can happen, but if it does that I suppose that properly describes the Imperial Navy to some degree. But even when it does it still functions as a deck and I feel it can offer an experience similar to Veer's landing on Hoth and units/effects that can support each other and the play area in a way that is conducive to an aggressive strategy. Gotta protect those General's Imperative objectives!
But "Thematic".... I guess in some sense that had a hand in my decision making. He did send Veers down to the surface and all that.

I'm running Wampas instead of Vader. At first it was a tough call to make. Vader and Suppression are the stars of the pod, along with the objective itself. The resource dude is ok for emergency use. The probe droids are neat, but I find that they get used defensively, which is good for getting the damage on the objective, but you're down a unit and probably haven't done any unit damage with it. Wampas don't do objective damage, but they survive longer, do great unit damage, and generally drop for 1 or less. Forward Command Post may really calm your fears of not having objective damage to use the zambonis or Starck. Shields are easy to get with this deck. I hope to hear how Vader treats you along with Suppression.

Also love the Wampa Pod. I should Include as much of that possible (not sure if its Limit 1 or not).
