Just realized a combo I want to see tested when my cards arrive. Mercenary Support can be used at any time. Bossk's ability activates whenever he comes into play from your hand. In short, if you can avoid spending the resource from Merc Support and you have Bossk in your hand you have a capture effect that you can use any time there is an action window. It sucks that you lose him at the end of the turn, but you were double focusing him anyways so he was gone for a few turns regardless. If you are running two copies of Trandoshan Terror you can do this again later then too as he isn't sitting in play blocking you from playing him again. I like it!
Put into play from hand, which is what Merc Support allows you to do, is different from playing from hand, which is the trigger for Bossk's reaction. This means Bossk's ability DOES NOT trigger when put into play with Merc Support, which sucks.
I disagree. Yes the two conditions are different but I interpret it as Merc Support allows you to play Bossk during any action window as long as you can focus the objective to put him into play from your hand. Bossk's triggering condition is playing from hand, which is still met by focusing Merc Support. As long as Bossk comes into play from your hand and not from the discard pile or somewhere else, his reaction will trigger. All Merc Support is really doing is allowing you to play Bossk during a phase other than the stadard deploymeny phase.
You can disagree, but it's been confirmed that merc support doesn't trigger Bossk.

"Play" and "Put into play" are two distinct, seperate types of action in this game. In order for Bossk to work when "put into play", his text would have to say "After this unit enters play from your hand", which would cover both "playing" and "putting into play" from your hand.
SmokeyJ is 100% correct on this one. Putting a card into play is not the same as playing it and effects that trigger on Playing do not trigger for putting into play.
Wow...thanks for pointing this out to me before I got used to playing it that way. Seriously though, to the game designers, when "put into play from" is different from "play from" in what it can and cannot do you are going too far with specific mechanics. Should be kept more simple so that game play is easy to learn. This is why my wife won't play the game with our group anymore...too many details for her to keep track of. Play from hand should be any time a card comes into play from your hand, but obviously they couldn't actually let an under-powered faction have a good card/combo. This is the same way I felt when they came out with the errata on how Red 2's ability worked to limit it.
There is no errata to Red 2. It works the same way it always did.
